Two Students Killed in Philippines School Shooting, Including Gunman Two students were killed in a shooting at a high school in the southern Philippines on Tuesday, with one of the dead identified as the alleged gunman, officials said. Officials said the attacker entered the school carrying firearms and that the incident was livestreamed using a body mounted camera. The motive remains under investigation.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. condemned the attack and ordered authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation, while officials moved to reinforce safety measures at schools. The shooting is the second fatal school shooting in the Philippines in less than two months. A separate attack in Tacloban City in June left three students dead and prompted renewed concerns about school safety and young people’s access to firearms. The latest incident has also raised questions about firearm access, online influences and the ability of schools to prevent attacks, as authorities continue investigating what led to the violence.
