Traffic Diversions Ahead Of Major Infrastructure Commissioning The Lagos State Government has announced temporary traffic diversions and partial road closures across key parts of the state ahead of the commissioning of several strategic infrastructure projects. State authorities said the measures are necessary to guarantee public safety, ensure smooth movement of dignitaries, and enable seamless execution of inauguration activities scheduled across different locations. According to the government, motorists should expect traffic restrictions on selected major routes during the commissioning period, with traffic management personnel deployed to minimise disruption and maintain order. Officials explained that the exercise forms part of activities marking the completion and inauguration of critical road and transport infrastructure designed to improve mobility, reduce congestion, and enhance economic productivity within Nigeria’s commercial capital. The government emphasised that alternative routes would be clearly communicated to commuters, while officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), police personnel, and other emergency responders would be stationed at strategic points to direct traffic and assist road users. Motorists and residents were advised to plan their journeys ahead, obey traffic officials, and cooperate fully with authorities throughout the duration of the temporary restrictions. The state government noted that the commissioned projects are expected to significantly improve connectivity across Lagos, complement ongoing large-scale transport initiatives aimed at easing urban transportation challenges and supporting long-term urban development. Residents were also urged to stay updated through official government communication channels for real-time traffic advisories and further announcements.
