Tinubu Inaugurates Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge, Hails Sanwo-Olu’s Infrastructure Drive President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated the Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge and other landmark projects in Lagos State, describing the development as a major step toward improving mobility, economic growth, and urban transformation.

The President commended Babajide Sanwo-Olu for what he called a bold infrastructural vision aimed at easing traffic congestion and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

Represented at the event by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu said infrastructure must directly impact citizens’ daily lives, noting that development should be “seen and felt” by Nigerians.
The newly commissioned Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge connects key commercial and residential corridors across Ikeja, creating alternative routes between Opebi, Maryland, Ojota and surrounding communities. These initiatives are part of broader efforts to modernise governance and strengthen urban planning in Lagos. The President applauded Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to expanding road networks, public infrastructure, and administrative efficiency, describing the projects as symbols of progress and continuity in governance. He urged residents of Lagos to protect and maintain public infrastructure, stressing that government investments can only deliver lasting benefits when citizens take ownership of public assets. State officials say the projects form part of a wider development agenda focused on improving transportation, boosting economic activity, and reinforcing Lagos’ position as Nigeria’s commercial capital.
