REA, Police Service Commission Deepen Partnership on Clean Energy for Police Facilities The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and the Police Service Commission PSC have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration aimed at deploying clean and sustainable energy solutions across police facilities in Nigeria. The partnership is part of the Federal Government’s broader drive to improve energy access in public institutions while enhancing operational efficiency, sustainability, and service delivery within the Nigeria Police ecosystem. The initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritizes infrastructure development, energy transition, and institutional reforms. Speaking during the engagement, officials of the REA emphasized the importance of renewable energy in powering critical security infrastructure, noting that reliable electricity remains essential for effective policing, communication systems, surveillance operations, and personnel welfare. The Agency reiterated its commitment to expanding access to clean and reliable energy through strategic partnerships with government institutions and stakeholders across the country. According to the REA, deploying solar-powered infrastructure in police facilities will reduce dependence on conventional energy sources, lower operational costs, and support environmentally sustainable practices. The Police Service Commission, on its part, commended the REA for its continued efforts in advancing rural electrification and renewable energy initiatives nationwide. The Commission noted that improved energy infrastructure in police formations would enhance productivity, security operations, and the overall working environment for officers and personnel.
