Aliko Dangote Receives Lifetime Achievement Award as Brand Africa Names Dangote Most Admired Brand Its President and Chief Executive, Aliko Dangote, has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution to industrialisation and for building one of Africa’s most successful indigenous business enterprises. The recognition was announced at the 16th annual Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands rankings held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where Dangote Industries Limited was also named Africa’s Most Admired African Brand for the eighth consecutive year. According to the organisers, the award celebrates Dangote’s decades-long efforts in driving industrial growth across the continent through investments in cement, fertiliser, petrochemicals, energy, and other key sectors that have strengthened Africa’s economic development. Industry observers note that Dangote’s business empire has become one of the most influential indigenous corporate groups in Africa, contributing significantly to job creation, local manufacturing, and economic self reliance. The Brand Africa survey, which spans 30 countries representing more than 85 percent of the continent’s population and economic output, is widely regarded as Africa’s most comprehensive consumer-led brand study. In the latest rankings, Dangote Industries retained its position as Africa’s most admired brand in aided recall, while also ranking among the top African brands contributing to social impact and sustainable development. Brand Africa founder, Thebe Ikalafeng, emphasized the importance of strengthening African brands, noting that despite progress, local companies still represent a small share of the continent’s most admired brands.

He said African consumers must increase support for homegrown businesses to accelerate economic transformation and reduce reliance on foreign brands. The latest recognition adds to a growing list of accolades for Dangote Industries, which continues to reinforce its dominance in Africa’s industrial and business landscape. Aliko Dangote’s Lifetime Achievement Award further cements his legacy as one of the continent’s most influential industrialists, whose work has shaped modern African enterprise development.
