UNICAL Moves to Correct Law Admission Irregularities
The University of Calabar UNICAL has commenced the process of correcting admission irregularities involving its Faculty of Law, directing affected students to return to the academic programmes for which they were originally admitted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB. The university said the decision follows the discovery of discrepancies in the admission process, with some students reportedly transferred into the Law programme without proper approval through JAMB’s admission procedures.
UNICAL stated that the corrective measures are aimed at ensuring compliance with admission regulations and maintaining the integrity of its academic programmes. The institution also assured affected students that efforts are being made to address the issue in line with existing guidelines. The development comes amid increased scrutiny of admission practices in Nigerian tertiary institutions, with authorities emphasizing strict adherence to JAMB’s admission policies.
