Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani says his administration has not taken any fresh loans since he assumed office, while continuing to service debts inherited from previous administrations. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Sani said the state government is currently paying about ₦6.7 billion monthly to service inherited debts. The governor attributed Kaduna’s fiscal strategy to strict prioritisation and prudent financial management, saying his administration has focused on managing available resources rather than taking on additional borrowing. Sani said the decision to avoid fresh borrowing has been maintained despite the financial obligations inherited by his administration.
