Tinubu Hails AfCFTA Recognition of Nigeria’s Customs Modernisation Model, Commends Bergmans as Nigerian Firm Wins Multi-Billion Dollar Continental Project President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the recognition of Nigeria’s Customs modernisation model under the African Continental Free Trade Area AfCFTA, describing the development as a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to strengthen trade facilitation and modernise its customs administration. The President also congratulated Bergmans, a Nigerian firm, following its reported success in securing a multi-billion-dollar continental customs project, describing the achievement as a testament to the growing capacity of Nigerian businesses to compete and deliver solutions on the African continent. Tinubu said the recognition of Nigeria’s customs modernisation efforts reflects the government’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business, enhancing revenue collection, promoting transparency and facilitating legitimate trade across the country’s borders. According to the President, the development further demonstrates the potential of Nigerian expertise and innovation to contribute to Africa’s economic integration under AfCFTA. He commended Bergmans for the achievement and urged other Nigerian companies to continue developing globally competitive solutions capable of addressing Africa’s infrastructure, trade and economic challenges.
