Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has officially parted ways with South African Premier Soccer League side Chippa United, ending his four‑year spell with the club after an agreed contract termination following his own request.
The 29‑year‑old shot‑stopper widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s top international goalkeepers submitted a formal request to leave the club despite having signed a three‑year contract extension in 2024. After careful consideration, Chippa United granted his release, bringing his time in the Eastern Cape to a close.
Chippa United confirmed the goalkeeper had formally requested to depart, and the club agreed to grant his release following internal discussions. The club expressed gratitude for Nwabali’s service, commitment and professionalism during his tenure, noting his contributions will be remembered fondly.
It was not revealed whether he has already signed with another team, leaving his next destination open with speculation he could join a new club as a free agent. Nwabali joined Chippa United in 2022 from Katsina United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
