Police Arrest Suspect Over Alleged Killing of 30-Year-Old Man in Adamawa The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a suspect, identified as Abubakar Musa, over the alleged killing of 30-year-old Nathaniel Yusuf in Jambutu Ward, Yola North Local Government Area of the state. According to the police, the arrest followed a complaint lodged at the Kofare Divisional Police Headquarters by Grace Yusuf, the sister of the deceased, who reported that her brother had allegedly been attacked. The command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said police operatives responded to the distress call, arrived at the scene, rescued Nathaniel Yusuf and rushed him to the Specialist Hospital, Jimeta, for emergency treatment. The suspect was reportedly arrested at the scene. Preliminary police investigations indicated that Yusuf sustained severe injuries, including fractures to both legs, his right hand and his head, after he was allegedly assaulted with a stick. Despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced dead while receiving treatment. Following the incident, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Kabiru Hassan, directed the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID, Yola, to take over the case and conduct a thorough investigation. The police said the suspect would be prosecuted if found culpable. The deceased’s body has been deposited for an autopsy, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death continue. The police have urged residents to remain calm and provide useful information that may assist the investigation.
