The incident occurred on August 22, 2026, at about 7:00 p.m., after police received information that the suspect was pursuing an unidentified person while displaying what appeared to be a firearm in an alleged attempt to rob the victim. Police operatives, working with members of a local vigilante group, responded to the report and tracked the suspect to Kofar Sauri, where he was arrested at about 8:00 p.m. the same day. A search of the suspect led to the recovery of a black toy pistol, which police said was allegedly used to intimidate the victim during the attempted robbery. According to the police, the suspect could not provide a satisfactory explanation for how he came into possession of the toy pistol during preliminary questioning.
