PFN Rejects Possible Restrictions on Bus Preaching, Says Christians Will Continue Evangelising The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has rejected any attempt to restrict Christians from preaching in commercial buses, insisting that believers will continue evangelising despite any possible legal restrictions. The Christian body said preaching the gospel is a fundamental responsibility of believers and maintained that its members would remain committed to their faith obligations. PFN leaders argued that any measure aimed at stopping public evangelism would conflict with their religious convictions. The fellowship stated that Christians would rather follow what they described as their duty to God than comply with restrictions they believe undermine their freedom to practise and share their faith. The controversy follows discussions around regulating religious activities in public spaces, including preaching in commercial vehicles, where some passengers have raised concerns about consent, public order, and the right of individuals to choose whether to participate in religious activities. PFN, however, maintained that evangelism remains a core part of Christianity and called for respect for religious freedom while urging that any regulations should not prevent believers from expressing their faith.

The group’s position has renewed debate about balancing freedom of religion with the rights of members of the public in shared spaces such as buses and other forms of public transport.
