Nigeria’s Ambassador Presents Copie D’Usage In Austria, Begins Diplomatic Assignment
Nigeria’s Ambassador Presents Copie d’Usage in Austria, Begins Diplomatic Assignment Nigeria’s newly appointed Ambassador to Austria has formally presented copies of his credentials, known as copie d’usage, to the Austrian authorities as part of the process of assuming diplomatic duties in the country. The presentation marks the beginning of the ambassador’s official engagement with Austria’s government ahead of the formal submission of credentials to the country’s Head of State, which will complete the accreditation process. During the ceremony, the ambassador reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Austria across key areas, including trade, investment, education, technology, energy, cultural exchange and multilateral cooperation.
He highlighted the importance of expanding diplomatic ties between both countries and exploring new opportunities that would benefit citizens of Nigeria and Austria. The Nigerian envoy also expressed readiness to work with Austrian officials and institutions to deepen collaboration on shared interests, while promoting Nigeria’s economic potential and diplomatic priorities. The Austrian authorities welcomed the appointment and expressed their commitment to maintaining strong relations with Nigeria, one of Africa’s largest economies and a key partner in regional and international affairs. Nigeria and Austria have maintained diplomatic relations for decades, with cooperation extending to areas such as commerce, development partnerships, international organisations and people-to-people exchanges. The presentation of copie d’usage is a standard diplomatic procedure that allows an ambassador to begin official interactions with the host country’s foreign ministry before completing the final credential presentation.
