Monaco Bombing Suspect Found Dead in Ukraine as Investigation Into Attack Continues A Ukrainian woman suspected of carrying out a parcel bomb attack in Monaco that injured a sanctioned Ukrainian-born businessman and members of his family has been found dead in Ukraine, according to the country’s security service. The suspect, identified as Anastasiia Berezovska, 39, had been the subject of an international manhunt after Monaco authorities linked her to a bombing at an apartment building in the wealthy Mediterranean principality on 29 June. She was reportedly wanted on allegations including attempted murder, placing an explosive device and criminal conspiracy. Ukraine’s Security Service SBU said Berezovska’s body was discovered near Kyiv with gunshot wounds. Authorities have since detained two men in connection with her death, including a serving officer from Ukraine’s military intelligence agency and a former law enforcement officer. The Monaco explosion reportedly targeted Vadym Yermolaiev, a wealthy Ukrainian-born businessman who has been under Ukrainian sanctions, along with his family. The blast left several people injured, including Yermolaiev and his son.

Investigators said they had traced Berezovska’s movements after the attack, with authorities alleging she left Monaco and travelled through several European countries before returning to Ukraine. Monaco prosecutors had issued an arrest warrant, and an Interpol Red Notice was reportedly issued as part of the international search. The circumstances surrounding the bombing and Berezovska’s death remain under investigation. Ukrainian authorities said they are working with Monaco officials to establish the full chain of events and identify anyone else who may have been involved. The case has attracted international attention because of the cross-border nature of the investigation, involving authorities from Monaco, Ukraine and other European countries. Officials have urged caution as inquiries continue into the motive behind the attack and the events leading to the suspect’s death.
