Kaduna Approves Nearly ₦1 Billion for Judiciary Workers’ Arrears

The Kaduna State Government has approved nearly ₦1 billion to clear outstanding entitlements owed to judiciary workers, in a move aimed at strengthening institutional fairness, improving staff welfare, and reinforcing confidence in the justice system. The approval was announced by Governor Uba Sani during a meeting with the leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria JUSUN, Kaduna State branch. Two months’ salary arrears April and May 2021 inherited from a previous administration
Leave grants for 2023, 2024, and 2025
Outstanding robe and outfit allowances for judiciary staff

Officials said the intervention is part of efforts to resolve long-standing welfare concerns affecting workers in the judicial sector.Governor Uba Sani described the approval as part of his administration’s commitment to fairness, workers’ welfare, and institutional stability, despite ongoing fiscal pressures facing the state. He also reiterated that judiciary workers play a critical role in sustaining democratic governance and ensuring public trust in the rule of law.The leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria in Kaduna reportedly welcomed the decision, describing it as a positive step toward improving morale and addressing long-standing grievances within the judiciary workforce.
