According to police authorities, AIG Morris who oversees Zone 4 Headquarters in Makurdi has been tasked with assessing the security situation on the ground, coordinating immediate response measures, and recommending strategies to prevent further attacks in affected communities.As part of the directive, the IGP also approved the deployment of additional personnel, including Police Mobile Force operatives and tactical teams, to reinforce security presence across Bokkos and surrounding areas. During his visit, AIG Morris met with local government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders to review the situation and coordinate security efforts. The Executive Chairman of Bokkos LGA, Amalau Samuel Amalau, described the attack as “tragic and unprovoked,” while commending the swift response of the Inspector-General of Police and calling for sustained security deployment in the area.Community representatives also urged security agencies to strengthen protection measures and ensure that promises of intervention translate into visible action, particularly in vulnerable rural communities affected by repeated violence.
