First Lady Melania Trump Opened Up In A Media Interview

First Lady Melania Trump opened up in a media interview about the way her son Barron Trump has matured and adapted to life in and around the White House, and shared candid thoughts on her husband President Donald Trump’s now-iconic “YMCA” dance move.
Melania described her 19-year-old son Barron as having a “very different” experience now compared with the first term of the Trump presidency, noting he is older, more engaged and aware of national events. Barron is now a sophomore at New York University’s Stern School of Business and, according to Melania, actively participated in his father’s campaign, offering insights on outreach strategies including recommending YouTubers and podcasters the campaign should engage. “He understands now. He’s involved. He knows what’s going on in the world,” she told the press.
Melania weighed in on President Trump’s signature YMCA dance, which has become a notable part of his public persona and campaign rallie She said she likes the dance at certain times, especially when it brings fun and energy, but also admitted there are moments when it’s “not appropriate”, and that she’s told her husband so.
“It’s his dance, and I think people love it,” she said, adding that the energetic move can create an atmosphere of joy and fun.
When asked if she’s ever tried the dance herself, Melania said she has, but noted that her version is “different than his.”
The interview came as Melania continues to promote her self-titled documentary, “Melania”, which offers behind-the-scenes access to life before and during the 2025 Presidential Inauguration and is set to premiere at major venues including the Trump-Kennedy Center in Washington. Melania also mentioned that President Trump did not have input into the documentary’s creation but “loved” the final product. Barron was just 14 when his father left office in 2021, so this is his first extended exposure to the adult political world as a young adult, Melania explained. Her comments reflect a mix of personal pride in Barron’s growth and a light-hearted acknowledgment of the more whimsical sides of political life, such as rally culture and viral public moments. Barron is more engaged and informed: Melania says her son now understands and participates in political and global discussions.
