Ebonyi Deploys 106 Personnel to Enforce Ban on School Graduation Ceremonies The Ebonyi State Government has intensified enforcement of its ban on graduation, valedictory and prize-giving ceremonies in public and private schools, deploying more than 106 surveillance and security personnel across the state’s 13 Local Government Areas. The government said the monitoring teams were deployed to ensure compliance with the directive and prevent schools from organising prohibited events despite the ban.

Officials warned school administrators against attempting to bypass the restriction by relocating graduation ceremonies to alternative venues, including church premises. Schools found violating the directive will be summoned and may face penalties, according to the state government. The enforcement measure is part of the government’s effort to regulate school activities and ensure compliance with approved educational policies across the state.

The deployment covers schools throughout Ebonyi’s local government areas, with surveillance teams tasked with identifying institutions that organise unauthorised ceremonies. Authorities urged school owners, administrators, parents and stakeholders to cooperate with the directive, stressing that compliance would be monitored statewide.
