‘Burn Notice’ Star Jeffrey Donovan Moves to Colorado After Meeting Wife, Says He’s ‘Never Leaving’ Denver, Colorado Veteran actor Jeffrey Donovan, best known for his starring role in the hit television series Burn Notice, has officially left Los Angeles behind and made Colorado his permanent home a decision he says was driven by family life and personal priorities.

In a recent interview, the 57‑year‑old actor who rose to fame as Michael Westen on USA Network’s espionage drama Burn Notice explained that his move came after meeting his future wife, Michelle Woods, while working on a project many years ago. Donovan and Woods married in August 2012 after meeting on set in 2011, and together they now have three children Claire, Lucas, and Ethan. Though he grew up in Boston and has many friends still based in Los Angeles, Donovan told reporters that Colorado’s lifestyle made raising a family “less challenging,” praising the state’s climate and outdoor space.The actor also jokingly called Colorado “the true sunshine state,” suggesting that it receives as much or even more sunshine than traditionally warm states like Arizona and New Mexico, and quipping that Florida should instead be dubbed the “thunderstorm state.” Donovan’s career spans decades, with Burn Notice running for seven seasons and helping establish him as a recognizable face in television drama. While he still works most recently starring as Abraham in the biblical miniseries The Faithful he made clear that his focus now gravitates toward family life in Colorado, where he and Woods are raising their children away from Hollywood’s constant bustle.
