Aiyedatiwa’s Loyalists Drag APC NWC, INEC To Court Over Ondo NASS Primaries Loyalists of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, have commenced legal action against the National Working Committee NWC of the All Progressives Congress APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC over the outcome of the party’s National Assembly primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections. The aggrieved aspirants are challenging the results of the primaries and the list of candidates submitted by the APC to INEC, arguing that the process did not reflect the outcome of the party’s internal election. They have engaged the legal services of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Remi Olatubora, to pursue the matter. The dispute reportedly followed the exclusion of some candidates believed to be backed by Governor Aiyedatiwa from the final list submitted to the electoral commission. Reports had indicated that some of the governor’s preferred aspirants were missing after the APC reviewed the primary election outcomes. The court action represents the latest development in the growing tension within the Ondo chapter of the ruling party, as affected members seek judicial intervention over the party’s handling of the National Assembly ticket allocation.
