FG presents Letters of Credence to four new envoys for diplomatic missions in Trinidad and Tobago, Kenya, Egypt and Equatorial Guinea

The Federal Government has formally presented Letters of Credence to four newly appointed Nigerian ambassadors and high commissioners, authorising them to assume diplomatic responsibilities in Nigeria’s foreign missions across Africa and the Caribbean.The presentation ceremony, held in Abuja, marked the final administrative step required for the envoys to officially begin their assignments in their respective host countries. The diplomats are expected to represent Nigeria in Trinidad and Tobago, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea, and Egypt. With the issuance of the Letters of Credence, the envoys are now formally accredited to act on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Republic of Nigeria in strengthening bilateral relations with their host nations.

According to the statement, the new ambassadors are expected to deepen cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment, security, education, cultural exchange, and regional integration, in line with Nigeria’s broader economic diplomacy agenda. They will also be responsible for protecting the welfare of Nigerian citizens abroad, promoting national interests, and enhancing government-to government relations with their host countries. The Federal Government noted that their deployment reflects Nigeria’s continued commitment to expanding its diplomatic reach and strengthening strategic partnerships across Africa and beyond. Following the ceremony, the envoys are expected to proceed to their countries of assignment, where they will formally present their credentials to the heads of state of their host nations before commencing full diplomatic duties.
