Tinubu Commends NADF for Expanding Farmers’ Access to Fertiliser Under Renewed Hope Food Security Drive President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the National Agricultural Development Fund NADF for its efforts in expanding farmers’ access to fertiliser and strengthening agricultural productivity under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope food security agenda.

The President praised the agency for its role in improving input distribution systems and supporting initiatives aimed at boosting food production and reducing dependency on food imports. Tinubu said the expansion of fertiliser access is central to his administration’s broader agricultural reform strategy, which prioritises food security, affordability, and sustainable farming practices across Nigeria. He noted that increasing availability of farm inputs, particularly fertiliser, would help improve crop yields and support millions of smallholder farmers who form the backbone of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.The National Agricultural Development Fund has been working alongside relevant government agencies to improve the efficiency of fertiliser supply chains and ensure inputs reach farmers at more affordable rates. The initiative is part of wider reforms under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security aimed at modernising agricultural systems, strengthening rural livelihoods, and enhancing national food production capacity. The Renewed Hope food security programme forms part of President Tinubu’s broader economic strategy to diversify Nigeria’s economy away from oil dependence by boosting agriculture and agro industrial development. Officials say the programme is designed to improve productivity, support local food supply chains, and enhance nutrition outcomes nationwide. The administration continues to emphasise increased investment in agricultural infrastructure, improved access to credit, and better input distribution systems as key pillars for achieving long-term food security. Stakeholders believe that improved fertiliser access could significantly reduce production costs and increase output across major staple crops.
