According to AIK recruitment manager Miika Takkula, the club received the invitation from the Nigeria Football Federation but will prioritize its domestic fixtures before making a final decision. He stated that the Swedish side has the right to keep the player because the competition is not scheduled during an official international break. Yohanna has emerged as one of the breakout stars in Sweden this season, registering two goals and three assists in seven league appearances for AIK. His impressive form reportedly convinced Chelle to fast-track him into the senior national setup. The Unity Cup defending champions are scheduled to face Zimbabwe national football team in the semi-finals on May 26, 2026.
