PRESIDENT TINUBU TO NIGERIANS OUR UNITY REMAINS UNSHAKABLE President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that the country’s unity, peace, and sovereignty remain firm despite ongoing security challenges, stressing that no agent of instability will be allowed to divide the nation.

Tinubu delivered the message while hosting traditional and religious leaders from across Nigeria at an interfaith breaking‑of‑fast (iftar) event at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, underscoring the importance of national cohesion and moral leadership in fostering peace. Addressing the gathering, the President acknowledged the reality of persistent security threats, particularly from terrorist groups, but stressed that Nigeria will not surrender to those forces and will continue to confront insecurity head‑on. “Yes, we are challenged; the terrorists are very desperate now because they are getting barraged and defeated … But I assure you of one thing: Nigeria will never surrender. We are not discouraged. We are going to win and win well,” Tinubu said. President Tinubu also provided an update on the nation’s economic trajectory, asserting that the government has successfully stabilised public finances and pulled Nigeria back from the brink of fiscal collapse. He stated that pensioners are now receiving relief gradually, and no governor is currently scrambling to borrow funds to pay salaries, a reference to past economic strains. “I am just grateful, one person among millions, that I have been given the opportunity to serve … All I can do is promise that I will continue to be faithful in discharging my duty,” the President said, adding that the economy has turned the corner and is getting better Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to sustain investment in critical sectors such as agriculture and education, aiming to leave a lasting legacy for future generations. He urged Nigerians not to lose hope, reiterating that the government remains focused on building a safer, more secure, and prosperous nation for all Representatives at the event, including the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, and leaders from both Christian and Muslim communities, expressed gratitude for the inclusive gathering and prayed for peaceful coexistence and divine guidance for the nation’s leadership. Their presence highlighted the symbolic importance of unity during the overlapping periods of Ramadan and Lent.
