National Health Sector Renewal and Investment Initiative At the heart of the government’s healthcare push is the National Health Sector Renewal and Investment Initiative (NHSRII) a flagship framework guiding public sector reform and investment across the health system. NHSRII has seen major progress in 35 of 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory aligning with national strategic goals. Expanded health insurance coverage under the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) and the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) is improving financial access for millions of Nigerians. Vaccine procurement and immunisation efforts have been boosted with significant allocations, while maternal and child health outcomes are improving.
Officials say these reforms demonstrate a joined-up approach across federal, state and local levels, bringing new momentum to a system long challenged by fragmentation.
Primary Healthcare and Facilities Upgrades
