Kano Will Vote Tinubu in 2027, Governor Yusuf Assures

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that residents of the state will support his re-election bid in the 2027 general elections. Yusuf expressed confidence that the people of Kano would vote for Tinubu to enable him to continue implementing his administration’s development projects. The governor gave the assurance on Wednesday while representing the President at the commissioning of a section of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Highway at Tamburawa, Kano State. He commended the Federal Government for its infrastructure projects, saying the highway would improve transportation and connectivity across Northern Nigeria. Yusuf also observed that several projects executed by the Tinubu administration had not received adequate publicity. “I have seen many projects the President has executed that have not been publicised. I could go on and on listing the projects and initiatives of this administration,” the governor said. He further expressed confidence that support for Tinubu would extend beyond Kano to other parts of the country. “The people of Kano will come out en masse to vote for President Tinubu, not only in Kano but across the North-West, the South and the country at large, to ensure the continuation of his development projects,” he added. Also speaking at the event, Minister of Works David Umahi expressed optimism that Nigeria’s economic challenges were beginning to ease, arguing that the Federal Government’s reforms were starting to produce positive results. “The reforms have started to yield dividends of democracy. Even in the darkest hour before dawn, there is hope. Let us support President Bola Tinubu,” Umahi said. The minister cited ongoing road projects across Kano and other parts of the North-West as evidence of the administration’s infrastructure investments. He said the Federal Government was also working to complete projects inherited from the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari. Among the projects he mentioned were the Kano Northern Bypass, Kano Ring Road, Kano-Kongolam road and Zaria-Hunkuyi road projects. Umahi also highlighted work on the Sokoto-Zamfara-Zaria road, adding that some inherited projects had been redesigned to incorporate reinforced concrete pavement. He said the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Highway would benefit the North-West and other parts of Nigeria by improving road transportation. Yusuf’s assurance comes as political parties and support groups intensify mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
