FG Upgrades NTA, Expands Modernisation Drive for Federal Media Organisations The Federal Government has announced plans to upgrade the Nigerian Television Authority NTA as part of a broader effort to modernise federal media organisations and improve the quality of public broadcasting. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the capacity of government-owned media institutions through improved infrastructure, advanced technology and enhanced operational efficiency. Officials said the upgrade would support better content production, wider coverage and improved service delivery to Nigerians. The government said the modernisation programme reflects its commitment to repositioning federal media organisations to meet the demands of the digital broadcasting era and compete more effectively in the evolving media landscape. The NTA, Nigeria’s largest television network, is expected to benefit from investments in broadcast facilities, equipment upgrades and other measures designed to improve transmission quality and audience engagement. The Federal Government said other media institutions under its supervision would also receive attention as part of the wider reform programme, with the goal of creating stronger, more sustainable public media platforms.

Officials added that the reforms would help preserve the role of public broadcasting in national development, information dissemination and promoting Nigerian culture and values.
