APC Presents INEC Nomination Form to Sharafadeen Alli, Unveils Adesoji Adedeji as Oyo Deputy Governorship Candidate
The All Progressives Congress APC has formally presented the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC nomination form to its Oyo State governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, while unveiling Mr. Adesoji Michael Adedeji as the party’s deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 governorship election. The presentation ceremony, held in Ibadan, marked the official commencement of the party’s campaign preparations ahead of the 2027 election. Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, described his nomination as a collective victory for all APC members and pledged to provide inclusive, accountable and people-oriented leadership if elected governor. Adedeji, a 46-year-old Economics graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, hails from Iwo-Ate in Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo State. While accepting his nomination as the deputy governorship candidate, he thanked the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him and expressed optimism that the APC would reclaim power in the state at the 2027 polls. Speaking at the event, Oyo State APC Chairman and former Deputy Governor, Chief Moses Adeyemo, urged party members to put aside their differences and work together to ensure victory in the forthcoming governorship election. He stressed that unity and reconciliation among party faithful remained essential to the APC’s chances of returning to government in the state. Also presenting the INEC nomination form, APC Deputy National Auditor, Gbenga Olayemi, described Alli as the party’s standard-bearer rather than an individual candidate, urging members to rally behind him and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the election. In his acceptance speech, Alli expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, the APC National Working Committee, the party’s leadership in Oyo State, security agencies and party members for their support throughout the primary election process. He assured supporters that, if elected, his administration would prioritise good governance, transparency, infrastructure development and economic empowerment for the people of Oyo State. The event also featured renewed calls for reconciliation within the party, with leaders urging aggrieved members and new entrants to close ranks and work collectively towards securing victory for the APC in the 2027 governorship election.
