APC women’s forum launches weekly intercessory prayers for President Tinubu ahead of elections The Tinubu Torchbearers TTB, a women-led support group within the All Progressives Congress APC, have announced plans to commence weekly intercessory prayers in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.The initiative was unveiled during a mobilisation event in Abuja, where party leaders and women stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening grassroots support for the President and his administration. According to organisers, the weekly prayer programme will bring together women across Nigeria to pray for the success of the administration, national unity, and the implementation of the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The group said the initiative is designed to combine spiritual support with grassroots mobilisation, adding that women remain central to political engagement and community influence across the country. Leaders of the forum explained that the Tinubu Torchbearers network already has structures extending across all 774 local government areas, and the weekly prayer sessions will serve as a unifying platform for members at ward and community levels.

They stressed that beyond prayers, the group will continue to promote voter education, civic engagement, and advocacy in support of government programmes. The APC Women’s Forum reiterated its confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, describing his policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda as efforts aimed at economic recovery, national stability, and social development.

They also highlighted the role of women in sustaining political movements, noting that their influence at the grassroots remains critical to mobilization and public engagement. The announcement comes as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with various support groups within the ruling party stepping up outreach and mobilisation efforts. Analysts note that such initiatives reflect early preparations by political actors to consolidate support bases ahead of the polls. The weekly intercessory prayer sessions are expected to begin soon across state chapters of the Tinubu Torchbearers, with coordination from national and local coordinators of the group.
