Zenith Bank Launches Côte d’Ivoire Subsidiary in Abidjan, Deepens Francophone West Africa Expansion Zenith Bank Plc has officially launched its subsidiary in Côte d’Ivoire, marking a major milestone in its Pan-African expansion strategy and its entry into Francophone West Africa. The new subsidiary, Zenith Bank Côte d’Ivoire, is headquartered in Abidjan’s Plateau business district, positioning the Nigerian banking giant within one of West Africa’s fastest-growing financial hubs. The launch represents Zenith Bank’s first major step into Francophone Africa, strengthening its presence within the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) region. The bank’s entry is expected to enhance cross-border trade, deepen financial intermediation, and expand investment flows between Anglophone and Francophone West African economies The subsidiary was licensed in December 2025 by the Ministry of Finance and Budget of Côte d’Ivoire and is regulated by the UMOA Banking Commission.

It will operate from its headquarters at SCI Wall Street, Avenue Noguès, Plateau, Abidjan, with full operations officially launched following a high-level ceremony attended by government officials, regulators, diplomats, and business leaders.

She emphasized that the bank remains committed to connecting African businesses to global opportunities through innovative banking solutions. The Abidjan launch forms part of Zenith Bank’s broader expansion drive across the continent, which already includes operations in multiple African and international markets. The bank is also exploring further expansion into Central Africa, with Cameroon identified as a potential entry point. The launch of Zenith Bank Côte d’Ivoire marks a significant step in the bank’s transformation into a fully Pan-African financial institution, reinforcing Abidjan’s growing role as a regional financial hub and strengthening economic ties across West Africa.
