Three APC aspirants withdraw from Adamawa governorship race, back Ahmed Galadima Aminu Three governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress APCin Adamawa State have stepped down from the race and endorsed Ahmed Galadima Aminu ahead of the party’s governorship primary election scheduled for today. The development is widely seen as a significant political boost for Ahmed Galadima Aminu, with observers now describing him as the leading contender for the APC ticket in the state. The aspirants who withdrew from the contest are Engr. Diaulhaq Abubakar, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, and Alhaji Ibrahim Bello Thul. All three cited party unity, stability, and the collective interest of the APC as reasons for their decisions. Announcing his withdrawal, Engr. Diaulhaq Abubakar said the move became necessary to strengthen cohesion within the party and improve APC’s chances in future elections. He urged his supporters across Adamawa State to rally behind Galadima’s candidacy and reportedly pledged N200 million alongside the use of all his campaign offices to support the campaign. Similarly, Comrade Mustapha Salihu withdrew from the race in what he described as a sacrifice for party unity. He subsequently declared his intention to contest for the Adamawa Central Senatorial seat, insisting that the progress and stability of the APC must remain above personal ambition. In the same vein, Ibrahim Bello Thul also shelved his governorship ambition and endorsed Galadima, describing him as a unifying figure capable of bringing APC members together ahead of the next electoral cycle in Adamawa State.Reacting to the endorsements, Ahmed Galadima Aminu commended the aspirants for what he called their selflessness and commitment to the growth of the APC. He promised to work closely with party stakeholders and supporters to strengthen the party’s structure across the state.Political analysts say the coordinated withdrawals reflect growing momentum behind Galadima’s candidacy as APC members prepare for today’s governorship primary election in Adamawa State.
