President Tinubu Receives Kwara Governor AbdulRazaq, APC Governorship Candidate Yakubu Danladi Salihu at State House President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received the Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, alongside the All Progressives Congress APC governorship candidate in Kwara State and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu. The meeting, held at the State House, is understood to be part of ongoing consultations between the Presidency, state governors, and key political stakeholders within the ruling party as preparations and alignments continue ahead of future electoral cycles and governance planning. President Tinubu, who has continued to engage with political leaders across the federation under his “Renewed Hope Agenda,” received the delegation in a closed-door session where discussions were expected to centre on governance priorities, party cohesion, and development issues affecting Kwara State and the wider North-Central region. The visit also comes amid continued coordination within the All Progressives Congress APC, as the party works to strengthen internal unity and consolidate its political structure at both national and state levels. All Progressives Congress officials have repeatedly emphasised the importance of collaboration between federal and state leaders in driving policy implementation and electoral strategy. Among those present was Yakubu Danladi Salihu, the APC governorship candidate in Kwara State and current Speaker of the State House of Assembly, who is expected to play a key role in the party’s future political direction in the state. The engagement also highlights the continued relationship between the Presidency and state governors under the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, chaired by AbdulRazaq, particularly on issues relating to economic reforms, infrastructure development, security coordination, and subnational governance. While full details of the closed-door discussions were not immediately disclosed, such meetings are commonly used to align federal and state priorities, review ongoing projects, and strengthen political collaboration within the ruling party structure. President Tinubu has consistently maintained that his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda focuses on economic recovery, improved security, job creation, and infrastructure expansion, with state governments expected to play a central role in implementation. The meeting concluded with reaffirmations of cooperation between the federal government, Kwara State leadership, and APC stakeholders.
