Delta Police Officer To Face Disciplinary Action Over Viral Killing Of Suspect The Delta State Police Command has confirmed that a police officer captured in a viral video allegedly killing a suspect has been transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja for disciplinary proceedings. The spokesperson of the Command, Bright Edafe, disclosed that the officer, identified as ASP Nuhu Usman, has been removed from his post and directed to face investigation and possible sanctions. According to Edafe, the police authorities acted swiftly following widespread public outrage generated by the disturbing footage circulating on social media.
Edafe explained that the officer has been moved out of Delta State to ensure an impartial investigation into the incident.
He stated that the Nigeria Police Force leadership would determine the appropriate disciplinary measures after reviewing the circumstances surrounding the shooting. “The officer involved has been transferred to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, where he will undergo disciplinary procedures,” Edafe said The police spokesperson further revealed that the officer and other personnel linked to the incident could face murder charges if investigations confirm wrongdoing.
