Chelsea Defender Trevoh Chalobah Completes Move To Serie A Club Como
Chelsea Defender Trevoh Chalobah Completes Move to Serie A Club Como Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has completed a permanent transfer to Italian Serie A side Como, bringing his long association with the London club to an end. The 27-year-old England international has signed a five-year contract with Como after Chelsea agreed to sell the academy graduate to the Italian club.
The transfer is reportedly worth around €30 million £25.7m, with potential add-ons that could increase the overall value of the deal.
Chalobah leaves Stamford Bridge after nearly two decades with Chelsea, having joined the club’s academy as a youngster.
He progressed through the youth ranks before making his senior debut and eventually becoming a regular member of the first-team squad. During his Chelsea career, Chalobah also spent time on loan at Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town, Lorient and Crystal Palace before establishing himself at Stamford Bridge. The defender made 47 appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 season, scoring three goals and providing one assist. Como, managed by former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, moved to secure Chalobah as they continue to strengthen their squad.
The Italian club has enjoyed a remarkable rise in recent seasons, earning promotion to Serie A before securing Champions League qualification for the first time in its history last season.
Chalobah will now begin a new chapter in Italian football as Como look to build on their recent success. Chalobah’s departure comes as Chelsea continue to reshape their defensive options under manager Xabi Alonso. The Blues recently strengthened their backline by signing French centre-back Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace for a reported £51 million on a six-year contract. The arrival of Lacroix, alongside other defensive options at Stamford Bridge, has contributed to Chalobah’s departure as Chelsea continue to reorganise their squad during the summer transfer window.
The England defender will now turn his attention to his new challenge in Serie A. Chalobah was also part of England’s squad at the recent World Cup under Thomas Tuchel and featured in the third-place match against France. His move to Como gives him an opportunity to establish himself as a key player in Italian football while helping the ambitious club compete at the highest level.
