Ayra Starr takes break to recover after major surgery
Afrobeats singer Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has announced that she is taking a temporary break from public activities after undergoing major surgery, assuring fans that she is recovering and will return once her health improves. The award winning singer disclosed the development in a message shared on her Instagram Story, where she apologised to fans, known as “Mobstarrs,” for her recent absence from social media and public engagements. She explained that although she had expected a quick recovery, the procedure turned out to be more complicated than anticipated. “I had major surgery a few days ago. I was hoping it would be a quick recovery, but it was more complicated than they expected. I just need a bit of rest, and I’ll be back,” Ayra Starr wrote, while expressing appreciation for the continued support and prayers from her fans. Despite her health challenges, the singer encouraged supporters to continue promoting her forthcoming project, Starrgirl, urging them to pre-order the album and spread the word ahead of its release. She also revealed that she had signed vinyl and CD inserts for fans before taking time off to focus on her recovery. Ayra Starr did not disclose the nature of the surgery or the medical condition that necessitated the procedure. However, she reassured fans that she is making progress and intends to return to music and public appearances as soon as she is fully recovered.
