Ferrari Unveils First All-Electric Supercar “Luce” With Price Tag Above $600,000
Ferrari Unveils First All-Electric Supercar “Luce” With Price Tag Above $600,000 Italian luxury carmaker Ferrari has officially revealed its first fully electric vehicle, the “Luce,” marking a major shift in the company’s 79-year history of producing high-performance petrol powered sports cars. The all-electric Ferrari Luce is expected to go on sale later this year in Europe, with deliveries beginning in 2026. Reports indicate the car will cost around €550,000 approximately $640,000 £500,000 before custom options and taxes. The Luce is Ferrari’s first production EV and represents the company’s attempt to combine traditional Ferrari performance with electric technology. The car was unveiled in Rome and designed in collaboration with LoveFrom, the creative firm founded by former Apple design chief Jony Ive. Ferrari says the Luce is not intended to replace its petrol supercars, but to expand the brand into a new era while preserving the emotional driving experience Ferrari is known for.
- Four electric motors
- More than 1,000 horsepower
- 0–100 km/h in about 2.5 seconds
- Top speed above 310 km/h 193 mph
- Driving range of roughly 500–530 km
- Seating for five passengers
The vehicle also features a futuristic glass-heavy design and advanced digital interior technology. While many praised Ferrari for taking a bold technological step, the Luce’s unconventional styling has divided fans and investors. Some analysts questioned whether the car looks “Ferrari enough,” and Ferrari shares reportedly dipped after the launch. To maintain the brand’s signature emotional appeal, Ferrari engineers developed artificial sound and vibration systems designed to recreate the sensation of driving a traditional Ferrari. The launch is significant because many rival luxury performance brands including Lamborghini and Aston Martin have delayed or slowed their EV plans amid uncertain global demand for electric supercars. Ferrari, however, is betting wealthy buyers will still pay premium prices for high-performance electric luxury vehicles.Industry analysts say the Luce could redefine the ultra luxury EV segment if buyers embrace Ferrari’s vision of combining heritage, exclusivity, and electrification.
