Terrorists Plan Eid Attacks on Civilians, Military Warns as Troops Deploy ISR Surveillance The Joint Task Force JTF, Operation Hadin Kai, has warned of possible terrorist attacks targeting civilians during the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, saying intelligence reports indicate that extremist groups may attempt to exploit the festive period to strike crowded locations.The military said it has already deployed troops and intensified surveillance operations, while Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance ISR assets have been fully activated across vulnerable and high-risk areas ahead of the Wednesday celebrations. According to the advisory issued by the Theatre Command, forward deployments have been made to critical and vulnerable locations to prevent any attempted attacks. Security forces said they are working in close coordination with other agencies, including community-based security groups, to ensure a secure environment during the festive period. The JTF warned that terrorists may attempt to use suicide bombers and improvised explosive devices IEDs, especially in densely populated areas such as markets, prayer grounds, and transport hubs. The military advised residents to exercise heightened vigilance during the celebrations, urging worshippers to conduct Eid prayers close to their homes where possible and avoid large gatherings. It also encouraged the public to report suspicious movements, unattended objects, or unusual activities to security agencies immediately. Residents were further advised to avoid unnecessary night movement and to cooperate fully with security personnel during patrols and screening operations. The JTF also cautioned against the spread of unverified information, noting that rumours could trigger panic and disrupt public order during the festive period. It stressed that only official security communications should be relied upon by the public. Despite the security alert, the Theatre Command reassured residents that troops are fully prepared and in control of the situation. It said ongoing counter-terrorism operations remain active, with the aim of denying terrorists any freedom of action and ensuring that Eid celebrations proceed peacefully across the region. The Command also extended Eid greetings to Muslim faithful, urging calm and cooperation with security agencies.
