APC Supporters Raise N50 Million for Shehu Buba Umar’s Bauchi Governorship Nomination Form Supporters and political stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State have raised the sum of N50 million to purchase the governorship nomination form for Senator Shehu Buba Umar, ahead of the 2027 general elections. The fundraising effort was announced by members of the senator’s Contact and Mobilisation Committee, who say the contribution reflects strong backing for his governorship ambition. The disclosure was made during a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Conference Hall, where committee leaders said the funds were collectively raised by supporters and party stakeholders. Speaking through the committee’s secretary, Barrister Mukhtar Abubakar, the chairman, Alhaji Muhammadu Sade, said the decision followed extensive consultations among APC stakeholders in the state.

He explained that the contribution represents a unified political commitment to support Senator Buba’s ambition to contest the governorship seat. According to the committee, the N50 million contribution is not just financial but symbolic, demonstrating confidence in Senator Buba’s leadership capacity, grassroots connection, and legislative experience. The group described him as a candidate with a “people-oriented vision” capable of addressing Bauchi State’s development challenges. They also noted that the move followed broad consultations within APC structures across the state. The supporters urged APC members, youths, women groups, and political stakeholders across Bauchi to rally behind the senator as the party prepares for its primaries and the 2027 general elections. They expressed confidence that his candidacy would strengthen the party’s chances in the state. Senator Shehu Buba Umar, who currently represents Bauchi South Senatorial District, has been widely linked with the 2027 governorship race following growing endorsements from party groups and grassroots supporters.

He formally declared interest in the governorship contest earlier in April 2026, promising improved governance and development if elected. The fundraising marks another major step in early political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, as interest groups intensify preparations within the APC. Political analysts say such early financial backing reflects the senator’s strong influence within party structures in Bauchi State.
