Netanyahu Quietly Undergoes Prostate Cancer Treatment, Declares Full Recovery In Annual Medical
Netanyahu Quietly Undergoes Prostate Cancer Treatment, Declares Full Recovery in Annual Medical Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed that he recently underwent treatment for prostate cancer, confirming the diagnosis and successful medical intervention through his annual health examination report.
The disclosure showed that the Israeli leader, 76, was diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer following routine medical monitoring after previous surgery for an enlarged prostate in late 2024. Doctors reportedly identified a small malignant tumour during follow-up checks.According to the medical report, the condition was detected early and classified as non-metastatic, meaning it had not spread beyond the prostate. Netanyahu subsequently underwent targeted treatment, which successfully removed the tumour. “The treatment removed the problem and left no trace of it,” Netanyahu said in a public statement released alongside the report, adding that he is now in “excellent physical condition.” He explained that he deliberately delayed the publication of his annual medical report by about two months, citing concerns that revealing his condition during ongoing regional tensions could be exploited for political propaganda. “I asked for the report to be delayed so it would not be used for propaganda during wartime,” he said, referencing the recent conflict involving Iran. Medical documents confirmed that the Israeli leader first underwent prostate-related surgery in December 2024 for a benign condition, after which routine monitoring led to the discovery of the cancerous lesion. Doctors reportedly offered him two options careful monitoring or immediate treatment and he chose to undergo intervention without delay. The Prime Minister’s Office emphasized that the procedure was successful and that follow-up scans showed no remaining cancerous tissue.
Netanyahu, Israel’s longest-serving prime minister, said the experience reinforced his belief in early medical intervention, urging the public to prioritise routine health screenings. The revelation has sparked widespread international attention, coming amid ongoing political and security developments in the region.
