Nigeria Positions as Leading PPP Destination, Showcases Infrastructure Pipeline at G20 Dialogue Federal Government highlights live infrastructure projects and calls for smarter global financing models to accelerate development partnerships and bridge infrastructure gaps. Nigeria has reaffirmed its ambition to become a leading global destination for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) investments, presenting its live infrastructure pipeline and advocating for more innovative and sustainable global financing models at the G20 Infrastructure Dialogue. At the high-level engagement, Nigerian representatives showcased ongoing and proposed infrastructure projects spanning transport, energy, housing, and digital connectivity, positioning the country as open for large-scale private sector participation. Officials said the presentation reflects the administration’s commitment under the Renewed Hope Agenda to accelerate infrastructure delivery through private capital mobilisation and strategic partnerships.
The Nigerian delegation highlighted a structured pipeline of bankable projects designed to attract international investors, including road networks, seaport expansion, power transmission upgrades, and urban housing schemes. Government representatives noted that PPP frameworks are being strengthened to reduce investment risks, improve transparency, and ensure faster project execution timelines. The country also emphasised reforms aimed at improving regulatory certainty, contract enforcement, and ease of doing business for foreign and domestic investors. Nigeria used the platform to call for a shift in global infrastructure financing approaches, urging multilateral institutions and private investors to adopt more flexible and inclusive funding models.
Officials argued that traditional financing structures often exclude developing economies or impose conditions that slow infrastructure development. They stressed the need for blended finance, risk sharing mechanisms, and long-term capital commitments to unlock large-scale infrastructure potential in emerging markets. The Nigerian delegation reiterated that infrastructure development remains central to economic transformation, job creation, and long-term competitiveness. They emphasised that the country’s reform agenda is designed to de-risk investments and create a stable environment for PPP-driven growth. The G20 Infrastructure Dialogue provided a platform for Nigeria to engage with global policymakers, development finance institutions, and private sector leaders on investment opportunities and reform strategies.
Participants discussed cross-border collaboration, sustainable infrastructure financing, and strategies to close the global infrastructure deficit Nigeria’s presentation at the G20 Infrastructure Dialogue underscores its push to position itself as a top-tier PPP destination, while also advocating for reforms in global financing systems to better support infrastructure growth in developing economies.
