NNPCL Says Partnership With Dangote Refinery Helping Stabilise Nigeria’s Fuel Supply The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Bayo Ojulari, has stated that the company’s collaborative efforts with the Dangote Refinery are playing a key role in stabilising Nigeria’s petroleum product supply. Speaking on the sidelines of the CERAWeek by S&P Global energy conference in Houston, United States, Ojulari said the NNPCL’s partnership with the Dangote Group including a 7.25 per cent equity stake in the refinery has strengthened crude supply links and improved product distribution across the country, contributing to better availability of fuel for Nigerians. He explained that the NNPCL “is on a journey” as part of its transformation under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), and called for cooperation from Nigerians and other stakeholders to achieve its goals. Ojulari emphasised that energy sector reforms and cultural change within the company are crucial to its evolution into a globally competitive energy entity.

The NNPCL boss also discussed the importance of completing the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) gas pipeline to expand gas supply to northern Nigeria, which he said is vital for industrial growth, job creation, and increasing power availability. In addition to the Dangote collaboration, Ojulari reaffirmed support for Executive Order 9, a presidential directive aimed at enhancing financial transparency and safeguarding oil and gas revenues in the sector, noting that NNPCL is working closely with implementation teams to provide the necessary technical data for its successful roll‑out.
