LASTMA Handles 2,843 Public Calls in One Month, Opens Complaint Centre in Oshodi The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority LASTMA says its newly launched 3367 toll-free call centre received 2,843 public engagements within its first 30 days of operation, describing the response as a sign of growing public confidence in the agency’s drive to improve transparency, accountability and service delivery. According to LASTMA, the Digital Centre, which commenced operations on June 28, processed a wide range of interactions between June 28 and July 29, 2026. The engagements included 1,047 enquiries, 709 commendations, 400 reports of road traffic accidents and vehicle breakdowns, 163 formal complaints, 11 requests for information, while 468 cases were successfully resolved. The agency also recorded 45 unsuccessful calls, largely due to abandoned calls, network disruptions and other technical issues. LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, said the overwhelming public response reflects increasing trust in the agency’s commitment to operational excellence, institutional integrity and citizen-focused traffic management. He noted that the feedback received through the hotline is helping the agency improve communication with road users and strengthen accountability across its operations. To further enhance public engagement, the agency also announced the opening of a Physical Complaint Centre at its headquarters in Oshodi. Bakare-Oki said the facility would complement the toll-free call centre by providing residents who prefer face-to-face interaction with a dedicated platform to report traffic-related concerns, seek clarification and lodge complaints about the conduct of LASTMA personnel. He assured residents that every complaint received through either channel would be investigated in accordance with established administrative procedures and the principles of fairness. The agency reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on corruption, extortion, abuse of office and other forms of misconduct, warning that any officer found culpable after due process would face disciplinary action under the Public Service Rules. LASTMA urged motorists, commuters, transport operators, corporate organisations and other stakeholders to make use of both the toll-free hotline and the new complaint centre, stressing that public participation remains essential to improving traffic management and promoting safer roads across Lagos State.
