Two Die in Fatal Crash Along Abeokuta–Ibadan Expressway, Ogun FRSC Confirms The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC has confirmed a fatal road crash that claimed the lives of two people at Leme, along the Abeokuta–Ibadan Expressway The crash involved a black Lexus car with registration number KJA 398 JR and a black TVS motorcycle with registration number AYT 837 QU. According to the FRSC, six adult males were involved in the incident, with two losing their lives while no injuries were recorded among the other occupants. FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, SRC Afolabi Odunsi, said the accident occurred at about 5:45 p.m. after the command received a distress call around 5:50 p.m. Rescue personnel arrived at the scene within five minutes, evacuated the victims and deposited the bodies of the deceased at the State Hospital, Ijaye Mortuary. Preliminary investigations by the Corps attributed the crash to speed violation, warning motorists about the dangers of excessive speed and unsafe driving practices on Nigerian roads. The Ogun State Sector Commander, Oludare Ogunjobi, commiserated with the families of the victims and urged motorists and motorcyclists to obey traffic regulations, maintain safe speeds and exercise caution while using the highways. The FRSC reiterated its commitment to improving road safety through enforcement, public awareness campaigns and emergency response operations.
